Being new to this game, I'm just after a spot of advice please guys
I've purchased some ready tied flapper rigs from online
Whats the advice and tips you have for being successful with these?
Obviously locating fish / spots is always paramount
Thanks

personaly dont like them off the yak. think about it when bait fishing you want the bait on the bottom. you lower your flapper to the bottom till you feel the lead on the sea bed. normaly i hold the rod feeling for a bite. only the bottom hook is on the bottom so the other one or two in my opinion arnt fishing properly. give some slack out and the hooks will lay on the bottom but if your fishing for flatties and the likes you dont feel the bite. only my view no doubt people will disagree cheers mel

To be honest Lee, If I am using a bait fished on the bottom, I just use a running ledger all the time with approx 3' hook length. I have tried wishbone rigs but they have not been any good for me. Keep it simple Phil

agree with philpot, running ledger all the way for me, ranging from an 18" to 3 ft hook length, longer at times when on the live bait.
