If anyone is looking for a good warm fleece for winter, for under the dry suit, I bought one yesterday from Army Surplus , situated in Denbigh, on the Colomendy trading estate.....The firm have got a large quantity in stock, and these are one piece, and are worn by navy divers.... can't wait to try the thing.....like to be warm....Dave the wimp Win.

hi lads i did not want to put holes in my yak so i got a black storage box from wilkinsons for £1.50 and a old fishing rod cut the soft tip off and then cut it about 12inches below the ferrel drilled 4 holes into one end of the box fed cable ties around the 12 inch bit then got 2 12inch pieces of waste pipe and put the in the other corners a block of 2 by 2 across the top middle and you are done it can be put on with 2 bungee cord and you have a flag pole and 2 rod holders and a storage box which you can put on and take off as you want as you can see from the picture above it does not look that bad

I've been using a Wilkinson's mop handle that just about fits. When I unexpectedly capsized in surf, I thought I was very lucky not to have damaged the hull.

Dave many just slot the flagpole into a tube cable tied to the corner of our storage crate. Easy enough for even a DIY numpty like me. lol Terry

Cheers Terry, decided in the end to simply use the scupper hole immediately behind the seat....serves no other purpose as far as I can see, and works ok, but I attached the thing to a spring to prevent snapping it if I roll...which I am good at in surf..lol. Dave Win.

Terry I think that that is the easy fit option, and is very efficient. Dave I would be very concerned using the scupper for that purpose. If you were to roll in the surf it could damage the scupper. Scuppers are not renowned for their strength.

Hi Seajunky, thank you for that, I picked the easy option, but obviously need to rethink, so will go for Terry's idea of attachment to a box on the rear of the kayak. Dave Win.

I do think that that is by far the best option of the two, and the safest.
