My advice is not to go for a stretch coil type. If you fall out of your kayak and start pulling with a springy / stretchy one and it snaps the chance is it will come back and hit you in the face. The 1/2" wide thin nylon dog lead i use has no stretch and is very strong and light. Some of the coiled ones can be a little heavy on a long paddle. Steve.

dont use bungee type leashes on your paddles they can cause a danger if they do coil back on you if while you are fishing your paddle gets knocked in the water accidently and you dont notice then you will have a paddle flying back at you and this is very dangeous same as with your rods use the none stretchy ones
