Thats outrageous, they wouldnt try implementing a by law to stop sunbathing or dog walking because those were an annoyance to anglers - would they. I've signed

now you all might hate me for this ,but as a fisherman and a surfer and a spearfisherman and a dog walker and a sunbather i can see both sides to this story ,yes as a fisherman it do cheese me off but as someone who spends as much time in the water as out of it i see why they are doing this ,just think a nice gripper lead to the head or getting a 2o hook in your eye or foot or getting your legs caught up in line and not being able to swim and drown ,but as the fisherman in me i dont know the size of the beach up there but surely there is a zone for swimmers and a zone for surfers ,,on the beaches in north devon they stopped the the use of all motorized craft because of safety ,just something for you to think about

Jobsworths at it again.
As Seajunky says - get involved or don't complain when they come after YOUR sport and access. I've signed up.
It would be very interesting to know precisely how such a byelaw came into being. Did someone get injured or complain - was it just one person or several? Was that person a jobsworth councillor or a 'man in the street'? Did anything happen at all to provoke such a nanny-state reaction or was it a theoretical risk at work here? Is it to get rid of us 'foul mouthed, beer swilling, fishing hooligans' or something more factual?
It is noteiceable that there is never a 'sponsor' for such bright ideas - never a person who puts themselves, their name and phone number forward and who's idea it was - noone you can tackle on the subject. Just lots of councillors hiding behind their expense claim forms again. makes my blood boil. Big society gone mad again!
Why do we vote these jobsworths into office in the first place?
If you do care just damn well sign up or it's us next!

the next thing will be day tickets to fish the sea or beaches, the problem will be when all these organisations start saying join up for this and that and making you pay a small fee to help along and before you know it were all paying and then the government puts a tax on it ,as a growing profit sport ,!!!! i can remember my dad saying this to me wen i was a lad ,he was moaning about paying a few pound for a fishing and elver license on the river severn ,and on that point do i have to have a boat license on the river for a 4.1m kayak?
