The Lowrance 4 dsi,i used a through deck gland and mounted it upside down. This allowed the bottom part which is 60mm in dia to fit directly under the Lowrance mounting. Had to use slightly longer 5mm x 25/30mm s/s bolt with nylocs and "penny washers",sometimes referred as repair washers. I used a laptop/ipad neoprene pouch to store the loose cables and keep them tidy. Also,im putting the battery in one as well securing to either side of the foam support pillar. The leads will stay, and the battery i'll used velcro so i can take it off to charge.... The transducer embedded in marine epoxy,i used the bracket just to line it up,and to manage the cable bend.

Just a word of warning when using cable ties.........cut them down flush, level and square. They will cut into anything that brushes along it........skin,drysuit etc Or,leave the loose end tucked in or taped down so they don't poke anyone's eye's out in the process . Use a flush cutting tool, its like a small wire cutter.

Well done mate. Same colour as mine. The anchor trolley is so easy with the good access to the hull isn't it? I fitted my FF to the hatch lid, it is still a stretch, with my gut I would never be able to reach yours. Nice kayaks a little heavy but that is the trade off for the stability and space. Terry

Thank you very much for your comments..... I brought the kayak into the hallway,it was too cold and windy in the garage to work on(thought the garage roof was coming off!)...and lo and behold its still here ! (in the hallway.... It'll be back in the garage tomorrow for sure......so nice to work in the warmth though. Need to get out as soon as this weather subsides........having withdrawl symptoms! To operate the Lowrance f/f-gps i'll straddle down to it...more so when i want to turn it off. This is to stop the transducer pinging which spooks the fish...well that's my theory anyway. Roll on summer ! Just about enough daylight at 6pm...if skies were clearer.

When I first got the Big Game, the ff was sited right down at the front about 12'' infront of the foot pedals so I carried a dowel rod to switch it on and off which worked ok then I moved it to a point where I could reach it.

I had thought of a thin rod to press the buttons too,but with my eyesight i'd be there all day pokeing at it....trying to switch on.. What a day weather wise i can't believe it,a lorry overturned only a stones throw from our house on the Britannia bridge.40 tonnes of metal blown over like a feather! Never known winds like this...ever.. 45 minutes to travel from Bangor to Menai about 3 miles....over the Telford suspension. ps kayak still in hallway on its side, and my ears aren't aching!

The radio stated tonight that the highest wind in the UK was somewhere in Wales recorded at 108mph, best leave the kayak in the hall Alan.
