It's not a new idea but i have managed to get all the bits together and hopefully fit it on to the Cuda 12.. Ingredients are as follows :- 1 x Std 60 cm Deluxe Dutch Feeder rest (preston innovations) 1 x Fox Anodized Aluminium Stage Stand (black label edition) this will need drilling the base hole to 6mm diameter. 1 x 350mm Bank Stick. 1 x 200mm Bank Stick. (purchased one of each to suit conditions and they were cheap enough)

I may have to sacrifice the pull-up leash...by removing the attachment bracket......or fit just in front of the bow hatch..

Hopefully it should look like this when fitted........... It will also allow me to see bite detection better and most of all the paddling.... And less chance of the rods snapping if i get rolled in the surf....i hope not to Total cost £33.47 for bits...

A couple of the Jackson Kayak team boys use these rod rests for both fresh and salt water fishing and swear by them.

Here it is fitted and ready to go............ I'll probably use the shorter of the two bank stick's....although the longer one may be altered and shortened to suit by using a plumbers circumferential tool to make a tidy job. Then remove the base plug out of the surplus off cut and refit to the altered bank stick.

This will allow the rod(s) to stay in position when paddling.....and not having to store them in the rocket launcher behind the seat. ps i also had to chamfer the two sides of the base underside (ie port and starboard) with a soft grinding disc to contour the shape of the kayak mounting area. And i may attach a small diameter bungee around the top and down around the securing screw. This will keep them snug together......
