Thanks Shaun :-) James and I have 587 and 597 Humminbirds but we haven't bought Navionics charts for them yet, gotta figure how to do that....... I saw some of those features on the chart on my iPhone, just a question of finding them....... Weather is really settled atm, shame you can't get out We're taking the bivvie over tomorrow night, so that we can get out early Hi martin I love Church Bay , however, you may already know, but a word of warning - look out for wakes off any ships coming into Holyhead especially in calm weather Hope you have a great trip and please let us know how you get on.

I'm a Merseyside taxi driver and self employed with my own car, so just work when I need money. But I can make more on Friday and Saturday nights than all of the rest of the week put together! .....so I fish midweek :-) My son James is in car sales, so his time off tends to be in the week too It looks like there'll be a few of us fishing Anglesey this year and it'll be good to share trips and information I fancy some hard fighting Smoothies on light gear and maybe a Tope or two too For now, a Thornback or two sounds great :-) I must address the charts thing, it seems to be key to getting results I've had pike into thirty odd pounds and carp to over forty, but this sea fishing challenge has opened my eyes to how little I know. I'll try and get some GPS co-ordinates on Church Bay marks We learnt last trip to stay away from the headland when the tide is running!......the Pollack can wait :-)

Thanks Phil, we did see the warning signs of the ferry wakes, but didn't experience them last time out :-) I'm thinking we can learn a lot by concentrating on Church Bay for the time being, it seems to have a good mix of features and depths and the tidal flow seems reasonable so long as we stay away from the headland
