Sarge is right really - but to be fair if you are intending to use a SOT kayak in particular through the winter as some us have and will do then the feet are a serious consideration and something that that does need dealing with. Last winter which was generally damm cold i wore neoprene socks/ wetsuit boots to match and sandals which propped my feet up out of most of the water which in some cases was close to freezing point and i have pictures to prove it. On one outing even wearing the above- feet were that painfull with cold i ended up putting a flotation suit jacket accross the kayak where my feet were to separate them from the water that your feet are forever in - and then wrapped the jacket over my feet - it helped a lot but it isn't a solution to this problem really. As this winter approaches - it would be good to hear ideas or news of new products to keep our little feet warmer this winter.

over the years i have found that my hands suffer more than my feet , I use walking socks with my boot's , they do get wet but stay warm ish, but WOW my boot stink after a long winter . My gloves help, but after 3 to 4 hours at sea the cold gets to my fingers

I think people suffer in different ways with the cold, my hands stop working before my feet do!!!
Last winter i was ok with a pair of thick hill walking type socks and my neoprene boots, however the boots do have a good thick sole whitch gives good insulation. I found that a 100% wool hat i had kept my head warmer when it as wet, could this work the same with wool socks??, something i might try.

Try Nookie Ti liner socks for £9.99, Ive had mine for two years and they are mustard you still get a bit cold normally at the end of a session but well worth the money. Make sure your feet are dry when putting them on they have a silver coating on the inside for what purpose i don't know so wet feet make it a bit longer to put on.
