25 knots is fine - and it is from the SW so we should be in the lee in the bay - out on the Skerries would be fun though!!! I might get there Friday night and sleep in the car - ready for an early assault on the beach. What kind of gear to bring - what are we after? Bottom fishing, or lure/fly? Never been there so have no idea of the ground.

Dorado, Bottom fishing in rough ground for wrasse, pollack, conger, bass close in, plus a bit further out for the flatties, huss, whiting, dogs. We were there a few weeks ago and small shrimp rigs were the killers for the coalies - jigged up and down whilst on the drift through a fast flow of water around one of the headlands.
Not sure if I will be able to make in on Saturday, and if I do it will be in the afternoon only, so I might be going out sunday instead. Happy hunting

bull bay is one of those places where you can use many methods it has slow deeps fast runs and sand banks the fly in the fast runs should produce some exiting prospects use dark patterns similar to black pennels black baby dolls hairy marys ect but larger .

I would just like to thank everyone for today. For my first outting I had a really great time and now I have finally got my hands on a Yak expect Album loads of Photos from all my fish (Sainsbury's has a good stock). But seriously I was given lots of handy information and was helped an awful lot. Im sure i was also told to slowly choose what Kayak I was to buy but 30 mins into the day and I owned one and I dont think I could have found a better yak. ;D ;D ;D Again Thankyou all. John
