hi jim the plastic is ok on the one we have its not thin on the cup holder at all that i could see . but it is a problem area for all kayaks the cup holders are very difficult to get an even amount of plastic to stick to when in the moulding process .

hi Jim its in one of those places that don't get bashed about and knocked but what i would do if it looks thin is go to b&q and buy your self a role of foil backed flash band its the same tape they use on gutters its waterproof and sticky and has a silver foil side its about £6.00 a role and then put a strip on the inside of the cup holder this will stiffen up the area and wont fall off i spoke to another kayak importer recently and they told me they use the same stuff around the scupper holes sometimes when they are a bit thin they even use it sometimes on small leaks that will certainly stiffen up your thin cup holder .
