The weather was just too good not to go out today Met up with a couple of locals at cable bay around noon and paddled left to ty croes in the knowledge that rays had been coming in this last week off the shore. Hughesey had a whiting, then I deep hooked one, which went back down as bait when it didnt survive. Hughesey was first in with a nice ray of around 3 - 4 lb. Followed by another one around the 5- 6lb mark. I managed my first one ever later on - caught on my whiting rather than the mackeral I had been offering originally. Great fight all the way up and an all time new species for me. Hughesey plled another ray in of around 3 lb before packing in. I continued with another local, Alan and managed another whiting (released) and then Alan took a good 4- 5lb ray on very light tackle before we paddled back to cable bay and had a final dabble close in. Fantastic sunset just as we were coming in too. What a day

I launched from the Foryd in Caernarfon, and timed it for slack water and had a brilliant paddle with no wind or current

Nice pictures Boomphat. Hughesey was out on his new scupper pro yesterday at cable - he loved it. It was a great day for yakking!
The foryd is a great place to launch from - will be doing a few from there once the bass season starts proper as we had a good exploratory session last year and I know good source for live sand eel along that bit of road ;D

Sorry mate - should have given you a ring, but it was a last minute decision whether to go yesterday or this morning. Maybe next weekend if the weather is still decent? Cable is a great launch pad to go either left to ty croes or right to broad beach - both cracking fishing marks this time of the year and fish well over low water too.

What a fantastic day you've had. Weather spot-on (for February) and some great fish. Well done. Wish I could've been with you.
Cheers

Belting fish and picture. Now the wretched winfd is howling so I can't go this weekend.......typical.
Can't do next weekend, giving demos/talks at the Fly Fair.......maybe I can join you in March.
