i have read a few times that people have had the rope slip between the cam cleat so a lot are using 2 cam cleats now to eliminate the slip . i just use a bar but i think the cam cleat would be a better system as long as it does not slip it may be the diameter of the anchor rope being to thin that is causing the slip .

b & q have some really small stainless cleats in i have been using them for a few years now and had no problem with them the ones on the blue prowler that fisher bought from me were on that kayak for about 2 years before he bought it from me again with no problems at all i think they are about £5.00 for a pair so cheap as well they have a good selection of rope in the same section so while your their sort out your pulley rope as well that way you can get the correct diameter rope for the pulleys at the same time.

nice boat raz when you get it take time to check out the front right hand scupper hole and center transducer hole from inside of the hatch before you pay for it if it looks very thin pick another one just press it gently with your thumb there has been some problems with this area in the past i have seen a few very thin ones . it is unlikely that it will cause to much of a problem (fail )while in use but if your going to spend your money make sure you are paying for the best kayak available don't take the chance take our time to inspect the yak before buying i have spoken to Andrew from Johnson outdoors (the importers)about the problem in the past and he was very good saying that if the kayak fails due to a thin area they would sort it out . but it would be a shame to spend time setting all the kit on it and then find a problem 12 months down the line and have to send it back .i know a few of the lads on anglers net have sent back there kayaks due to this .

Nice 1 for that, I have heard sumthin on the grape vine about this whin spot but now I know where to look. I have also heard that Johnson Outdoors have a very good after sales services and will sort out any problems but as you said it would be ashame to spend the time decking it out then have to send it back. Im going for the elite as it has all the advantages of a standard prowler but with a few extras like the transducer scupper and the boat looks very stream lined which will suit the long distances that I like to cover. Do you no if the hummingbird fishfinder mount that fits in the tackle box resess is avalible in this country?
