Hello Terry, Thanks! I have tried course fishing when I was younger. Then I went onto sea fishing back on Merseyside. For me there's no comparison. Asfor kayak fishing I think I like being on the sea! ;D Living in Northants............. I miss the coast! Its been 11 years. If it wasn't for my job, we would be living near the coast again. But I'm not going to let a couple of hours drive stop me enjoying Kayak fishing. ;D We are planning a trip to North Wales maybe Easter, weather pending. The missus fancies Abersoch and paddling out to St Tudwalls islands. I have fished there years ago, only caught Mackerel, but the porpoise were great!

Missed this thread somehow... I'm Eddie, originally from Merseyside, now living in Cheshire... have been fishing mainly coarse for 35 years... I've done little sea fishing of late due to distance and coarse fishing being my first love.. but looking to get a yak and re-ignite my sea fishing interest!

Hi All I'm Rob from Bridgnorth. Lifelong angler, always looking to try something new so have now disvovered kayak fishing. Always lived sea fishing but living in the midlands has limited my trips to one or two a year when I could get an individual space in a charter boat. Toyed with getting my own boat in the past but put off by the cost. Now the proud owner of a lovely yellow manta ray 12 courtesy of Zebra on this site. Also came with about a 1000 tips which would have taken me years to wuss out - top man. Will probably fish mainly off Anglesey so if you see someone who looks like he hasn't a clue come and say hello!

Hi Rob,
I know the feeling of isolation, living in Leicester I have the same problem. Welcome to the site it a great bunch of guys and Zebra and Buddy are rightly proud of it.
I am actively working on trying to get us access to coarse venues. You live on one of the finest rivers around, are you friendly with the local club(s)? It would be great if we had someone who could give a poibt of contact. If you feel like approaching them great but if you want to pass any contacts to me I would happily discuss it with them. I would love to get some serious kayak fishing on the Severn.
Beware mate this is a sport that takes your life over. It's great!
Terry

'Lived sea fishing ' should have been 'loved sea fishing' and ' wuss out' should have been ' suss out' !!!! Need to face the fact my eyesight ain't what it used to be!

Terry Hi Terry I'm lucky enough to be a member of one of the best run clubs in the area - knver freeliners. The website is easy to find & the secretary Steve Williams is a top bloke. If you have any problem contacting him via the website give me a shout. Cheers Rob.

Cheers Rob. Just looked at the website and some of the river sections and the overgrown sections of Chelmarsh Reservoir look ideal for a kayak. However looking at the club history it seems that the is a very long waiting list. I would not want to trouble them when they are already oversubscribed. Thanks anyway Rob....you lucky sod! Terry
