Sounds like we shold have come that side but with the strong wind from the SW we went looking for the lee. It would seem we both had offshore winds! There were NO mackerel in Bull Bay - even the boats weren't getting any - they went miles round the corner to find any. The others caught a few small pollock and other bits of rubbish - my only fish of the day was a 6" grey gurnard. Great - but the paddle made up for it.

Was that yesterday you were out and not today? It was windier yesterday (as forecast) so we opted for less wind and more risk of rain today. In the end the rain lasted all of 2 mins if that with a few spots half way thru the session. I found the swell quite hard going to start but it quietened down for most of the mid morning. We had been thinking of going to bull bay for the mackeral so glad we didnt now :-) Still they were not present in massive numbers as often as dafarch you can get full house of 6 most drops whereas today I think the most I had on at once was 3 and had a lot more doubles and singles - still nice sport tho on a 9ft light bass spinning rod and braid line
