As i got the yaks yesterday i need to make the last (big) capital expenditure and get VHF. I will be getting th Icom m71. The cheapest i have seen it for is £169 (inc VAT) at G Comm. www.g-comm.co.uk/Has anyone had experience with this retailer? Are they ok?When i mentioned the price @ G Comm to a local Icom dealer he said that he could not do it that cheap and then started talking about 'grey' imports. This got me a little worried. Any advice/info much appreciated. Zebra: Does this forum replace NWSA kayak section? I was accessing something yesterday via " rel="nofollow" target="_blank">www.network54? Its all getting a little confusing for me as i am not that computer savvy. Can someone please let me know what is what? Cheers Nick

hi nick its good to see you here. if you can just hang on a few days ray from Victoria pier is going to stock the m71 radios it would be worth you having a word with him to see what the price is.
on the confusion. there is no connection between the two sites in any way. with nwsa fishing kayaks only had one message board it would have been impossible to cover all the aspects of kayak fishing so i and a few others thought it needed more so we decided to start our own forum and website so that we and you could have more scope to expand the interest ie more content more venues / product reviews ect.

Hi Zebra, having looked around various sites it seems that about £180 is average price. I know that the marine electronics place in Pwllhelli is charging £178 as i was in there the other day. The G - Comm price of £144 is excluding VAT.
Take it easy Nick
