Is anyone up for Bream fishing off Shell Island one day? Its just South of Harlech. There is a natural reef which runs out into Cardigan Bay called Sarn Badrig (Saint Patricks Causeway). It's 10 miles long and runs at right angles to the coast. When I was a kid living in Barmouth we used to fish over the reef for Bream. It was heaving with them. We used 7 foot trout spinning rods, 6lb line and a small 1 inch by 1 inch strip of Mackerel for bait. As you can see from the photo on the link below, the reef is visible on really low tides, as far out as 2 miles. www.geograph.org.uk/photo/221039There are loads of camping sites in the area. There's also good Bass fishing in the estuary at Barmouth. Let me know if anyone fancies it. John

John, looks like a great spot - I would like the fish the Mawddach estuary for the 'silver' ones being a Dolgellau lad and all that.
Cheers
