Came across this awhile ago fishing for pike, I bought some stainless rings from the carp section of the local tackle shop, tie braid using palomer knot and tie mono in usual way the rings are about 3mm in diameter and a lot tidier than swivels, then use rapala knot to lure, I'll try and find the name of the stainless rings I used..........

Rings are a great idea mate. You'll find using a swivel, or as you suggest using, rings will result in a stronger connection that tying braid directly to mono or flouro.
Thanks for sharing.

I am another fan of uni to uni. I used this method for all my uptide boat fishing for years but i was using braid to mono. I always put a spot of super glue on before pulling the knot tight.
The super glue might be a problem with fluo as i am advised that the line can be seriously damaged, perhaps some of our members have found this problem. I have never tried it so i cant confirm either way. Phil
