it started at the pier 8:30am me and ray got some bait together for the day a bit of rag and sand eel left At 9am to make our way to meet martin in Bangor we meet spud on the way and he joined us we all got to pwllheli at about 10:30am where we meet up with Karl first job was to find a cafe where ray could get some brekkie we got in the water at 11:30am at the harbour side of gimlet rock where we got our first look at spud's set up or should i say (inspector gadget) what a set up it is we paddled out to the buoy to the right hand side of gimlet rock and we was in to fish strait away with the 1st one been a bream i can't remember who got it can you ray ;D we all had fish to day with the fish of the day going to Karl and martin with a nice ray and a red mullet we had 7 species in all with bream, dab, ray, dogfish, mackerel, mullet, garnard here is some pic's of the day mother is never here to dress me one of the small Bram's where is that mullet i got from asda ah here it is lads and what a fish to catch on your maiden voyage Karl with a good size ray

the best bit is ray finally got himself a decent pfd one that can be seen hooray .looks like a great day

great report kev. Conditions looked great- excellent pics- is spuds boat modelled on a Royal Navy frigate - some incredible rocket launchers on it . So what did you say Rays score on the day was then ? Nice one everyone and especially Karl on his first trip out.

Nice 1 martin sounds good. Hopefully Fisher is going to get next thursday off work so im gona so some praying to the weather gods and hopefully we can get out and start racking up them species. Well in on the red mullet mate good one for the list, had a couple of them off llanduduno pier a few years back but never had one since.

Next Thursday at Pwllheli sounds like a good plan. I will be in criccieth next week. It would be great to put faces to logins !

Nice one martin- great pics- hope Karl managed a trouble free re-entry. A few have mentioned that we could do with a saftey session day- re-entry in particular. Karl has another example of gear on the sea bed. We need to think of more ways to keep the gear afloat if that happens. So its looked like it was such a good day you couldn't face anymore fish so had to have the Gammon instead ! Happy days

Thanks to everyone for a good first trip (even though expensive lesson learnt). Managed to get back on at the second or was it third attempt. If you don't want to lose it then leashe it!!!!! Greys longboat & ABU 7000 gone - gutted - won't do it again though ::)I hope!! Catching thornies on a 7ft spinning rod - now thats fishing
