Hi all
I am am going to buy a mantaray 12 in the new year. The colour I like is the Sand or is it Ivory but would like to know if this is very visual on the sea. Does any one have this colour and are they happy with it.
Thanks Geoffd

Hi Geoff
I have a sand coloured manta ray 12, I like it a lot, the only concern is that it could be prone to staining if your not very carefull with it. Thats a great choice you made there. As a matter of interest, where do you live Geoff? Steve

I was going to buy a kayak over a year ago but things just did not go my way. I like the sand one the best, I dont want the angler version as I want to fit it out myself.

Geoff thats a very wise decision indeed. I have said it before, and I'll say it again, i will never buy an angler version of anything. I feel as though there is not enough attention to detail from the fitters on the kayaks. Also all of the additional items are quite often dry fitted, which can and will cause problems. All in all mate I think that you have got it dead right, Also thats a fantastic location to live.
Have a look in the "Your kayak" section, there is a photo of my kayak on secret beach Angelsey.

Do they not do the manta ray 12 in proper sea kayak colours? ;D ;D ;D ;D Ok so you might be able to make the kayak fairly visible with a flag etc but what about if it has capsized and due to an injury you were unable to right it again? Stand out from the crowd/sea and get yourself a nice bright colour.

Chris in all seriousness the sand colour is quite visible, I agree that bright orange or yellow, or pink might stand out a bit more. Its not that bad. Except you know that Photo I took of it on the secret sandy beach, it took me ages to find it after the tide went out. ;D

As for a capsize and being visible! HELP or OTHER WAY UP in big black letters on the underside should be quite visible ;D

As a matter of interest on this subject, do you get kayaks with a different coloured hi-vis bottom?
Or do you reckon you're going to frighten away fish or attract sharks or something? ;D ;D ;D
