Yes certainly looks the part Terry. Makes sense how the returning pull from the "spring" imparts a lot more action that the conventional one sided pull. Interested to hear how you get on mate.

yes it does work i had a little play today just in a tank with a double bucktail a doubled elastic band and a 5 oz lead it really does bounce the jig about a lot more but i need some stronger elastic just bought some 12s from ebay to try that let you know how i get on

Very interesting that mate. Does the weight need to be on the bottom for this to work effectively? I was considering using a bungee cord strand. Normally there are several thinner strands inside but not sure if that'll do. I'll do anything to save a pound. And that's got nothing to do with being Scottish either! ;D ;D ;D ;D

You need to get some photos terry, this looks and sounds really good.
I cannot remember the site I stumbled on but they had a clip on the rod just above the handle similar to a 'terry clip' with a 'j' shaped hook to the left side of the clip. You cast the lure, lay the line off the spool onto the hook and simply wind in. the lure movement is amazing. I made one using some plastic bits and tried it in the local river which was very clear and it certainly gives great action but the plastic would soon form a groove and damage the line so it needs to be made of metal. Take a look at some of the pole elastic the carp boys use Terry, I guess that would work.

Just a thought though..... the my fishing is generally crappy enough, do a need a specific 'crappies' rig?
