I like the original red gills for the simple reason that they catch fish and are very durable. Only cons I've found are that the ones that have paint added to them peal off quite easy and I prefer eels that have a weighted hook to keep the point upright to minimise snagging. I've been thinking of giving these fancy ones a try www.redgill.co.uk/p/1210/red-gill-evolution-sand-eel-lures-new-sizes-for-2012Just wondered if anyone here has seen them in the flesh and maybe tried them? Just want to know if they are still hard wearing with the new material? Also does the paint stay on better? Any comments or thoughts welcome. Chris

Look good for the kayak. Would like to see some a little heavier for use with the spinning rod. Steve
