My report- all i'm going to say about the fishing was the wind killed it. We'll make up for it next i'm sure. because of that for some of the members it became a day of just paddle enjoyments- discovering the area , safety drills (plenty of getting back on boats practise which i did hardly any of - too busy firing the camera)and a
boys day out.Camp was set up the night before because there never seems to be enough time on the morning of the meet.
We arrived in the dark- Kev brough flood lights but my brand new genny was sparkless. So the camp went up under the lights of Coleman lamps and car lights.
Kev relaxing with a green bottle at about 2.00AM
Adam , Tony (Topcat) and martin having a breifing.
ray and kev having a snackette before kick off
Kick or should i say walk off ;D ;D members walking out into the inland sea with kayaks in tow.
John still walking
Most of the group paddle round to a small headland to the embankment where most of the fishing was expected to be done- it was rough and very soon radio reports came in that they were on their way back and by all accounts it was tough hard work with strong winds in face to get back.
Everyone then headed to Four Mile Bridge where there is a tunnel under the road. So we had a ride through that.
Kev and Martin exiting the tunnel
While others stayed around the tunnel for the abvious fun and the watch for and await half of the party who were on the way to meet up with us ray and myself decided to have nosey forther up the estuary stopping off for a rest before letting tide and wind takes us back only using the paddles as rudders.
Back to the bridge to meet up with others and for because the tide had built while we were away we hada hair-raising ride through the tunnel to meet everyone else who had settled down for play and some safety stuff on the other side.
Standing up and paddling game
