Update, found that I can take up to 5.5kg in the back tankwell and the drain plug is just out of the water. Have decided to go for a Lifepo4 20ah battery at a cost of £140 (imported from Czech Rep), but it's life expectancy is about 5 times longer than a lead acid battery & weighs in at 2.4 KG. Once I get the battery I shall give it a troll around Portland Harbour and see how long it lasts. The watersnake claims to use 15 - 20 amps per hour and has just two speeds, so I'm hoping the battery will last me around 1 - 1 1/2 hours at the lower speed.
