Guys, Any of you that use Facebook will have already seen that 10 of us had the unprecedented chance to fish Rutland Water yesterday. This is the culmination of over five years of delicate negotiations and is still a long way from general access. BUT..... the major thing is that it looks like coarsekayakfishing.proboards.com may well be given the chance to organise a major kayak lure fishing event there next Autumn. This has the potential to be a real ground breaker and give kayak anglers an exciting chance to fish for the pike and zander there. Currently things are at an early stage but what I need to find out is just how much interest there is in such an opportunity. I am working with Anglian Water and planning to talk to potential sponsors for such an event. Initial planning is for a two day plan with demos and training on day one this could continue into day two but the main event would be a lure fishing competition. So.....would you be up for it? Terry

I'd have a shot at that Terry, It would be a great opportunity to promote coarse Kayak fishing and will hopefully lead to access to more waters especially if some of the fishing media got involved. Too many people still think kayak fishing is a load of 'red neck' types chuckin and chancing from a vessel hardly worthy of water when in fact we are quite the opposite

Well said mate. Once Anglian Water fully embrace our sport we will all have more leverage with other venues. Terry
