Anyone know much about them? I've upgraded from a Humminbird 565 to a Humminbird 597ci HD The transducers look identical. I wonder if I can save all the fitting and sealing and just use the one that came with the 565?
The 565 will be for sale if anybody wants it, it works great, it's just that I wanted the latest all singing model, but mainly because my son has the identical FF and he can show me how to use it! :-)
The 565, this actual one, is reviewed on Saltwater Kayak Fisherman, Rob Appleby's site

I doubt it mate. I'd call there customer services? to check or look in the manual at the specs. If the new unit is HD then I'd have a stab and say the transducer will be better than the old one, after all that's where it gets its data from

Thank you for the reply Shaun :-) I seem to have found the answer, which is that it's the same Item for a whole range of Humminbird FFs I think I'll hold off selling the 565 until I've done a "sea trial" of the new FF with the old transducer I just don't want to go ripping stuff out of the kayak as it's all so well organised and fitted now, great work by its previous owner I should add..... My son has the same model and so we can go ahead and get Navionics charts set up on them, and he can teach me how to use the thing....... :-)
