I have a kayak made of 5mm polyethylene. It's coming out of its winter storage place (garage) and I'm storing it outside a friend's house on the coast for the summer. My questions are; 1. Is it best stored upside down? 2. Do I need to cover it with anything? I've heard about sun bleaching but does this just cause discolouration? If so I'm not too bothered about that if it's just the bottom of the boat. 3. Should I put something underneath it so it's not resting on the floor? Thanks in advance.

Hi Chris. They are made to suffer the elements. If outside I would store upside down, I don't cover mine and they have never distorted or discoloured. I put mine on padded blocks to keep them just above the ground. Steve

Keep it covered and away from prying eyes if you can.
