Anyone know if there's enough in Anglesey to be worth targeting? I've heard of some in the Menai, late season, but what about the bay's around Anglesey and Holyhead?

Martin, A little further off Anglesey, you may already know - Pwllheli is well known for Bream around the Gimblet Rock area, Izzetafox may have info for here.

From the shore Pwllheli is the got to place for black bream in north wales with the stretch behind the golf course being a favoured spot. That said though I know a lot of lads who go out there way to target them each year and most of them are still waiting. I know it'll be different from a yak as you can find a likely fish holding area on your FF but it won't be anything like you experienced at Swanage.

Indeed there is a run of Black Bream at the Gimlet. Generally people head to the western end of the beach by the golf course and towards Careg y Dafydd. Small hooks and fine strips of squid are usually the target having said that whilst at Swanage I caught well on small Sabikis tipped with an inch of ragworm. Nip into D & E Hughes tackle shop in Pwllheli for up to date information. Or you could head slightly east to Butlins Point and have a real challenge. In recent years a few Trigger fish have been caught. Pwllheli is one of the best areas for a range of species. Whoops just seen Shauns post. Doh! Terry

That's great, thanks all. I'm guessing the run starts later than down south, so maybe I'll have a go for the August time ..........back to the dogfish....... :-)
