actually what do you guys take to sea as a safety guide common sense would tell me spare jerry can of fuel back up motor maybe? i ve got a reliable light 2hp sml fire ex? flares? if you were goin out a fair way? 30m rope and anchor radio mobile
my kayak fishing was around headlands etc max 25m out from the shore which i ll continue doing this in the sib - maybe a bit further out so flares will be over the top i think!

David, the inflatable keel is there to keep the boat running straight and to help when turning, in effect the boat can lean over to grip the water surface. Hope that helps. When the boat is not in use but still inflated, say at home or whilst on holiday or something similar, I would always deflate the keel to maintain the hull surface tension as the skin can go a bit floppy when the keel is inflated for long periods. The task of inflating the keel again is only a few moments job so no real time lost there.
Your list looks to cover everything David and if you carry all this, think about where to house them on board, boxes, bags etc.
