I have been studying the kayaks at a local shop And I have realised why some kayak "rod holders" create a problem..... They are being used as rod rest's which we have all done and do.....But, they are only supposed to hold your rod's when paddling to and from your fishing ground ! And this is why I have heard of them being pulled out with a fish on, and or snagged to the bottom and creating a flooding problem for the kayak and paddler. I am guilty of using two rods in the holder's one to left and one to my right side, and having third one in front of me. The leverage is too great for the holder to maintain a fish on or snag and thus, can rip the captive nuts out of their holes. So, take care when using your rod holders And attach a rod leash..................just for good measure lol Tight Lines

Called to Kayak shop in Menai and saw these in a box for £5 each ! Having been kindly given a tenner in a birthday card I purchased 2 ! There were about 14 or 15 left in the box great for kayak, or sib ? You can't go wrong for the price but you'll need to get fittings. There's a s/s fastenings supplier not far from Menai And very reasonable too These will be going on my hopefully new sib See photos on next reply post (need resizing)
