After several weeks, and three trips out on the water in various kayaks (thanks all), I finally made my mind up after the moelfre meet on Good Friday.
In the end it was between a malibu 2 or 2 xl (so the family could play too sometimes) or a Prowler 13. Having watched and bid on a few second hand ones on ebay during the last two weeks, I decided that second hand prices were too near the new ones. Then I struck lucky and found a new prowler 13 angler in a local shop at a very attractive price just by chance - that was last week. I went back in there yesterday to complete what I consider to be a very good deal on new p13 angler, matching carli magic paddle (at cost) , and ocean trolley which fits through the rear scupper holes (at cost), plus a small anchor thrown in to seal the deal. So it does pay to buy locally sometimes
Nice bright colour (mango) and already kitted out with a Wilkinsons foldaway crate and the beginings of a high vis mast made out of some spare waste pipe and a redundant scotch taped high vis motorbike vest (yes the motorbike is now going as the garage is not big enough for the kayak and the bike ). Provided the wet gear I have ordered arrives in next day or so and I find the pfd I am looking for locally I should be out for the maiden paddle by the weekend
Here's some picis of the yak, its proud owner and introductions with the family this afternoon :
Now, wheres those inshore bass marks
