Hi All, The paddles that came with my Malibu 2 are 200cm and made by Lalizaz. They seem to me to be rather flimsy to push my 16st (athletic ;D) frame, plus the yak through the water. Will they be OK or should I get something more substantial?

You may find that the paddles are too short for you, im about 5ft 10 and use a 220cm paddle. zebra told me how to check the right length of paddle for your height. Stand up straight and put the paddle next to you and reach up and wrap your fingers over the top of the blade, if the paddles the right length only your finger tips will bend over the top of the paddle, does that make sense? If you dont mind me saying so, they do look cheap, and the best thing to do is get a new paddle desinged for the job and the right length, put them 2 on ebay and make some money back. martin

I thought as much!
One of them has a sticker on it saying £29.99 I think that may have been for both though?
And yes, they do seem a bit short. I 'll shop around and see whats what.
Thanks

Looking at the picture the blades do look flimsy, dont rush out and buy anything just yet, if you can, come along to the next meet and try a few paddles out, see what fits and suits you. and then you can decide from there. Martin
