Compact handy little kayak. Good build and fittings. Did some mods on the basic yay to make it fishing friendly (can be seen in mods and rigging section under Tarpon 100 made fishy). Yak is ideal for short trips and bay hopping but took it out today to llandulas on a choppy sea. Even out in the choppy water it took on a bit of water with the waves splashing over and still felt confident with it. Felt very stable throughout the day, even sat with feet over the side in shallower water and still stable. All in all, not bad for a small kayak, even in choppy conditions The basic kayak Fitted seat with adjustable backrest. 4 carry handles, front rear and both sides central. Bungee over rear storage to hold a crate in position. Front hatch - Rubber, good tight fit. Not big enough to fit a trolly in but big enough to fit transducer for fish finder and have enough room for a dry bag. Rear hatch - again a good fitting rubber cover. Bag type hatch. Put my keys, mobile, wallet and loose change in a container and dropped them in the hatch. Safe and dry. Moulding is very sturdy, clean finish and no rough edges. Lots of potential for rigging out. Finished yak complete with 2 flush mounts, 1 scottie type and an anchor tolly Buddy (Steve)

Looks almost identical to mine except for the central rod holder. Have to agree it has proven to be extremely stable if not the fastest to paddle. Being smaller also makes you sought your gear out more often as a result you are more prepared, for the money they are great value.

Hi Carl Dont buy a kayak on its reputation. One kayak in the range might be awsome to one person and awful to another. We all like different things about a kayak so try before you make your mind up. I have had 2 oceans. A Prowler 13 angler and a scupper pro. I didnt keep any of these too long as they were not right for me. I now have a Moken 12 Angler and i am very happy with it. Steve

I recognise this kayak Steve!!! ;D I've got almost exactly the same one in my garden I keep for a young enthusiast. Only difference is that a few letters have gone on the "northwaleskayakfishing.co.uk" Small world Eh? ;D Listen mate, while we're on the subject of the Tarpon 100 what's the story with the hard plastic loops at the end of the seat straps? Are they simply for attaching things on to? I agree with the stability of the Tarpon 100 in choppy waters. I was surprised how well it handled it. A very nice little kayak for sure. Chris

Hi Chris. Its just a fitting used by tarpon. It ok to clip stuff to such as camera to stop keep it safe from going over the side. Steve
