The tide line six shooter bait casting reel
This is my first impressions review of this reel
First thing you will notice is the grand appearance of this quality reel it is finished in emerald green with gold hardware and spool it looks and feels top quality I think it’s the perfect spinning reel for adding to the xl spinning rod it feels very smooth and positive action of the clutch and magnetic brake system make it easy to use.
The level wind is lined so will not chafe or catch your line it has a very smooth action and winds the line on evenly on to the spool.
You can clearly see the lining on the level wind above.
Note the flip button here this allows you to let line out without disengaging the spool
And the easy to access thumb button this makes one handed casting a breeze.
The handles have a rubber feel to them so they are very easy on the fingers during a long days casting and retrieving
You can see here the magnetic break system control its easy to add or decrease the resistance when casting and the easy to see markings mean you can see by how much you are adjusting the breaking system .
I think masterline have got this just right the low profile of the reel make it comfortable on the hand while using and the controls of the reel are all very well set out so they can be easily reached and used this means that a full days spinning/plugging would be easy on the hands I teamed this reel with the xl spinning rod and think it’s the perfect combination for the kayak the reel retails for £39.95 .
I think its great value for that and sure to be a favourite amongst us kayak fishermen
I will add to this review once we have used a few more times
