The first NWKF meet Bank holiday 27th august What a great day we all had the wind was a bit hard to paddle against which made the fishing difficult but despite the stiff wind it did not deter from a great meet. A lot of the guys attended stitch /john legg / fisher / razaskar /choy /George / hatter3/sarge/tobasco / hughesy / keno / martinw /mello /yak chick /and myself zebra. I am sure I have forgotten a couple. we decided to get straight out and try the fishing after we had breakfast on the beach .than return for dinner .after dinner some of the guys went backout to fish and a few of us done an hour of safety drills which saw choy and keno doing there first capsize drills and they done them really well keno and choy even stood up in the yaks. then it was back to fishing not a lot of fish caught on the day but a mackerel and dogfish and fisher had a wrasse .but it did not mater at all .we were all well fed and watered with loads of bacon eggs and sausages all wrapped in soft buns and plenty of tea and coffee to wash it all down I will add photos later tonight .but all in all a great turnout and great company everybody pitched in and helped each other in particular a massive thanks must go to hatter3 and george who worked really hard to put the whole thing together and the results were well worth the work they put in .

Thanks a lot guys for a cracking intro to yak fishing. Good grub, good company and (most of the time) good weather, though paddling against the wind and waves is bloody exhausting - who needs to join a gym ? I think 3 yak trips a week will keep me trim enough !

Despite the lack of fish and the unsettled conditions- i think we made a great day out of it- those of you who know me will understand that my camera is in the back of my van - somewhere -and after todays efforts i aint got the stomach to go out and find it in the rain and the dark. The incrminating evidence it contains will have to wait until tomorrow- it was very nice to meet new forum freinds as well as longer standing ones- hope to see more of you at regular meets as plans currently underway unfold.

What a great first meet for me and fisher carnt wait for the next one. Big thanks to george, terry, kev and all the other lads that put a massive effort in with the munch tent and now we know what a meet is all about hopefully we can be of some help in future meets. Weather werent the best and it was hard going at times but it was great to see such an array of yaks all with different features and to meet a few of the members that have just been a name on the computer screen until now. Only got a couple if pics myself due to leaving the memory card but ill put them up today sometime ;D Big thanks again lads it was all greatly appreciated

I've missed a brilliant looking meet. Been on holiday in Ibiza and due to recent restrictions on hand luggage, HM Customs wouldn't let me take my Yak ! Will defo make myself available for the next meet ;D. Cheers Tim
