Hi Martin
It is indeed lake Padarn, Llyn as far as I know is Welsh for lake. I was on there a few weeks back with the fish finder on board and it was showing plenty of fish. They seemed to be concentrated at between 25 and 42 feet pretty much in the middle of the lake which was showing 98 feet deep. I have only seen fish rise here a couple of times probably small Brown Trout although I wouldn't be surprised if there were Arctic Char in there too. There were two guys a few weeks back in a small rowing boat fly fishing but not sure if they caught anything.

Jimbob you are right, the lake is know to have a population of Arctic Char, very hard to catch. Someone has previously mentioned that years ago locals used bike wheel rims with a load of hook lengths.
Bit different to the last time I paddled there and grounded the yak at the western end under the bridge.
