I met up with spenny hambo and johnh this morning
The weather was a bit over cast but dry and good visibility calm sea state
Hambo and johnh were ready first so they headed off to the sea side of rat island .
Me and spenny stayed land side of rat island we were into fish right away on the drift we were getting macks and whiting every drift quite a few full houses of mackerel
After about an hour of drifting we decided we had caught enough macks so we would anchor just short of the island we were going to anchor just of the wreck (royal charter) but I heard a group of divers on the vhf planning a dives on it so we stayed land side of the island I think it was a good decision right away we were catching dabs and gurnard some quite bigish ones the whiting got a little bigger as well we only managed 2/3 dog fish between us but about 60 fish each not including mackerel with the mackerel probably about 100 fish each we kept adding to the species all day in the end at about 1 ish we decided with the cloud thickening and with a bit of tiredness we would call it a day the species we caught were .
Dog fish / place / dabs /gurnard red and grey/ codling /whiting/mackerel.
So we had a busy mornings fishing with each change of tack ticks bringing a new type of fish a great session and great company.
A small seal came to see us as well Steve spenny took a few photos of it .
i will put some photos up tomorow
