Well done lads, great report, photos and especially the fish - loads of them not a doggie in sight. I bet some of Hughesey's 'special bait' had something to do with it ;D ;D
Can't wait to fish Bull Bay on the 19th May, hope to see you all there for some fish catching lessons.
Cheers
Tim ;D

We had a great morning out, despite the wind and rain. Great company and great fishing.

Did you really need to kill them all John I have the greatest of respect for anyone who puts them all back. Equally, since it is down to personal choice, I dont think its fair to criticise anyone who takes a few to eat. I took 6 home - four fed my family of four tonight, and two were prepared and put in the freezer for the two kids to eat next week. I dont consider that being greedy and neither do I feel guilty for doing so. We like eating fish and its one of the many reasons why I enjoy fishing. I'd rather eat a small proportion of what I catch in a year, than pay Tesco or similar for fish which has been transported many food miles - sort of goes hand in hand with why we have our own hens and grow a lot of our own vegetables in a large poly tunnel. I also find it a bit easier to defend fishing with the above reasoning rather than to say I just do it for the "sport" of catching and releasing, as that does provide more ammunition I feel to those who would wish to see fishing banned

In a year I keep around 30 fish excluding mackeral. That's less than one a week. 'Nough said.

Not getting into the "how many should we keep" debate Looks like a great trip, I hope to catch something decent to eat soon - a winter of Mersey shore fishing, with my best catch being a 1lb whiting, has dulled my enthusiasm a tad, but the thought of what I may be able to catch from my yak keeps me going... even a woofer would be welcome. Looks like I'll miss the next meet due to work.
