Will be in Port William for the next 3 days from tomorrow morning. Weather forcast ok. Lots of Tope being caught. Hope to confirm that come Thursday. Anybody on hols and interested more than welcome. Last time i camped on the beach but access to the water was a nightmare with the amount of rocks, so will be camping on the camp site just outside PW and using the slip. Will report later. Stephen.

No Tope ( again ). Last time i was down i camped on the beach north of Port William. I had seen the camp site south but wanted to get a fire going. Turned out to be a bit of a nightmare as when the tide fell there was nothing but rocks and no way through to the water. Camp was made and i had had a few so just fished the next day with no luck on the Tope but a couple of new species to the list. After buying a new 5 man tent i decided on the camp site this time. Done much the same as last time. Got camp set up and hit the tinnies. Fished Tuesday in pretty rough conditions. Conditions stopped me getting to the mark i was given so don't know if i was wasting my time where i was. Wednesday i packed up and went to the Ardwell side to the same mark we were at. But alas, no Tope there either. Don't know of any excuse other than there couldn't have been any there. Good tide run and lots of fresh makarel. I'm not defeated and since you'll be there i'll make a point of it. I could only make the Sunday though as i'm commited to my fly fishing club outing on the saturday. Port William side is teaming with fish. Not exagerating, you could count on 1 hand from fifty lure casts that there wasn't a fish on. Just not what i was down for. What a job trying to get the tent up in that wind.
