It was great to meet you all yesterday. Gareth and I had a great time. The weather could have been a bit kinder, but then there's always the next time ;D ;D

Good day saturday met hatter in the tackle shop around 8 ish and drained him for as much info as possible for the local fishing. Also good to see Gismo for the first time. Kev pointed out a few spots I could try fishing while waiting for the rest but the weather was to harsh to attempt a solo mission so instead I had a nice breakfast at a local cafe and then had a drive up and down the coast looking at fishing specs till 12 is when I met up with the rest of the group. It was good to speak to other beginners like myself wand also have a few old hands there for safety ( old as in experienced not cashing in pentions Timo ;D) We ended up at Porth Dinorwic where we run into a fayre which hampered parking. After launching and paddling to a very nice looking mark I in my infinate stupidity tried to get my anchor down as quick as I could so as not to drift to far and I hadnt noticed the anchor rope was latched round my only unleashed rod which went for a swim and is now sat at the bottom of a very deep gully after pulling up a ouple of mackerel and fighting to get my anchor to hold my anchor trolley snapped which in turn spun me round and i had to dig the paddle in and grab my rope to stop the wind and swell tipping me, all good fun ;D We then decided we should head back and so it gave Kec the chance to test the new trolly on a bigger heavier machine. Pictures will be in his review Im sure but although it carried it well I think the BG needs a wider trolley. Anyway still nice to get out regardless of catch and Im hoping that with the next meet I can hopefully start hitting some new species especially Tope which eluded me yesterday on my charter trip but 3 got landed 1 of which to a guy who had never seen a rod before yesterday. I managed a 12lb huss but the closest I got to the Big T was landing the 2 for our Lucky skipper which I Handled from the water using Dorados expert advise. John.
