Hi has anyone on this Forum any knowledge or experience of the above kayaks ( www.advancedelements.com ) - I was thinking of the Expedition Tandem or Convertible. These kayaks are hybrid inflatables with folding fibreglass (I think?) hulls, that fold into a large holdall. I was interested in them for flyfishing on my own and with a friend also for short close in shore touring again on my own and with my wife. As they are packable they do not require roofracks ( I have two cars and a campervan) and more importantly do not require lifting on as I will be on my own some of the time. Also I would be grateful if anyone knows of any UK agents as I would like to view or preferably try the two Advanced Element Kayaks I mentioned above. Ta in advance Alan George

These kayaks are hybrid inflatables with folding fibreglass (I think?) hulls, that fold into a large holdall. I don't think it's got a folding fibreglass hull throughout the hull. I think it's got fibreglass poles which make the Kayak very rigid whilst also having small plates on the stern and bow to give more rigidity to aid tracking. I've been using inflatable for a few years now and they're very very stable but if you do fall out they are a nightmare to get back into with regards to deep water re-entry. I wouldn't like to fish off one either, hooks and all that. It's a bit late but it's better to have a reply late than never at all. Even if it's half a year later.
