If the hull was completely full I should imagine the yak would sink.

i was told in the shop where i purchased my x13 that if the hull completely filled with water it would float because it has neutral boyancy

we had an experience with a kayak that filled with water a member had got into difficulty tried to cling to the orme and tipped his yak myself and another member could not right it as it was to "heavy"later we found it was due to an insecure hatch fortunately all ended well and the yak was recovered by the inshore rnli

good to hear it ended well mate.do you think that adding extra boyancy inside would make it easier to right?

yes car inner-tube pushed to the rear then blown up it will last about 12 months before the rubber perishes then deflate but change it about once a year and they are brilliant

A lot of the guys use 'noodles'....the closed cell faom type used in swimming pools not the ones that come in pots..lol How about using empty 5 litre water bottles?? Only about £2 from Tesco/Asda and you get 5 litres of water free with them. Please dispose of the water responsibly as we are told sea levels are rising as it is already. These bottles have plastic handles for clipping to and if you let them dry out you can tip a little paint inside swill it around ( or better still use aerosol cant of fluoroescent paint ) and they make cheap bouys for lobster pots or anchor rigs.
