if while out at sea,a kayak started to fill with water for whatever reason inside the hull,do yakers carry something to bail this water out with?

I dont carry anything. To bail out means you have to open a hatch. The biggest hatch is at the front and this would be dangerous and chance swamping quicker than you could bail. Steve

Surely a hand pump over nothing??!
£20-£30 and stores securely under the elastics or behind your seat.
I think this option could not only help you, but also those trying to help sort your problem if you don't have one and a fair distance offshore.
I was in and out the sea like a yoyo 1st day :-) 60secs with the pump and boat was empty of the remaining several litres.
Am new to sea kayaking myself and appreciate what my coach taught & advised that day.

The pump is definatly the best way to go its quick and easy to use and only requires yourself to operate it
