i Have just bought a perception freedom sit on top kayak. I do like the whole shape and style of it and i went on lerryn river and its really good. Paddling against the wind was hard but it did still perform very well.
Can you tell me what you think of the Freedom, thank you.

I've had one these for a few weeks now. I'm a long term whitewater and surf kayaker so my impressions are based on being a kayaker first and a fisherman second.
my impressions are as follows:-
fast! at 4metres it's got a good turn of speed and it's relatively easy to get up a reasonable mile munching pace and maintain it.
It tracks extremely well, this is however at the expense of manouverabilty. It certainly doesn't turn on a sixpence. I'm fishing wide estuarys and the sea so it's not a really a big issue for me but may be for others. (I particularly notice this because I'm used to playboats that are a third of the length!)
stable. very stable in fact and makes a nice platform to fish from.
It's not the most dry boat and in reasonable size chop you do get a fair amount of spray into the boat.

Hi They are also known as Perception Swing in USA and Oz and have a helluva good reputation with people often sticking to them for life!
Brilliant value for money too compared to some US imports.
