Hi Everyone This my first post here, I am a shore fisherman ( but thinking about getting a Kayak) I have fished many venues around LLandudno Anglessey etc, and am amazed at Kayakers arriving at venues, then launching and fishing well within casting distance from the shore and rock marks, when people are already fishing. I know the sea is a big place which we all share, so why take the risks 50 yards out. Wilva out- let for an example, a Kayaker arrived spotted people fishing then put himself in the firing range. Why? I had to cast elsewhere. Most Kayakers fished from the shore once so should be aware of the risks.. The reason for this thread is one of safety not a rant Looking forward to some comments Mick

Mick that is a valid point. Anybody who does this is asking to get hit. We have all at some time drifted into range from time to time, which is an accident, also an accident waiting to happen. There are of course those on the beach that feel it's a bit of fun to try and hit a kayaker who has inadvertently drifted into range. I think you do have a very valid point, and kayakers should maybe take the hint and make an effort to stay a bit further out. And the beach fisherman who cast at kayaks should also show a bit of patience as well, and like you, cast elsewhere untill the kayak is out of range.
