Here's something that might come in handy, for those of us who fish at night. The Zenec strobe light. Obviously this is something only to be used in emergencies, for rescue services to locate you! To switch it on, there is a large, easily operated rotating magnetic switch at the base. Its waterproof to 50 m- so might also come in handy for us scuba divers, and it might also be useful for walkers/hill climbers. It emits a flash every second (a zenon discharge tube) and can apparently be seen from 3.4km away. Battery life is claimed to be 15h. Available from for £29.99- although I have seen them for £10 less than this! i784.photobucket.com/albums/yy127/SGWEBBO/DSCF0203.jpgWith a bit of trimming of the Velcro strap, it can be fitted to your pfd. Here, I've located it on the back of my pfd- its easily reachable, and nicely uncluttered and out of the way. Alternatively it can be strapped to your arm. i784.photobucket.com/albums/yy127/SGWEBBO/DSCF0204.jpg
