well met up with thomper76 gaz at c/bay for another go at the worms ;D ;D got there about 5pm the tide was just level with the end of the pier so it was get the boots on and start a slow walk down with the mrs and two kids who wanted a play on the beach ;D ;D whilst pumping a guy came over asked if i could sell him some lug :)i gave him about 30 worms and said hope you catch as they were fishing the l/w up so good deed for the day ;D ;D now my freezer is full of freshly pumped lug ;D ;D to the point i just couldnt fit anymore in there ;D ;D they are crammed in like sardines ;D ;D ;D should of worn some gloves though my hands are a mess now but hey they will have a few good scrubs hopefully it will come off ;D ;Dbut it has made me a happy chap getting a good stock up of worm and ive got some that ive kept fresh rather than frozen for the weekend so im smiling

having been out on the two tides terry my back is in half!got some fantastic blacks ready for the coddos later in the year! next missing now will be sandeels,peelers and maybe a few king rag!

Jessica, the wound is from digging/pumping the worms out of the sand. The black marks are the dye from the worms. These are the problems when collecting Black Lugworm. In the UK these worms are a deadly cod bait for the winter months. Phil

I might be a bit of a wimp but i always use disposeable gloves when pumping worms.
I find they stop bits of sand being abrasive as well as keeping my hands clean.
