I walked out from Red Rocks today to make holes with my bait pump. ( about 20 worm in 2 hrs. Hard work)
For those who dont know the area its a good 20 min walk out to the sea when the tide is out even on neaps. On small tides the sea doesnt make it all the way in.
While i was out there i saw a guy who i initially thought was walking a dog, you dont get many other people out there and there is a lot of sand and space. He was quite a way from me but I eventually realised he was pulling a kayak on a trolley.
Unfortunately it was too far to go for a chat but he sorted out the trolley, launched and paddled off out and towards Hilbre. I can only assume he was going around the back of Hilbre and then going to use the tide to come back in.
I take my hat off to him, he must be pretty fit. Its a long walk and then a fairly long, exposed paddle and then still possibly a long walk to return. Its set the seed though, maybe one day in the summer?
