We should all be VERY concerned and vigilant. Already it has spread to Barton Broad in the Norfolk Broads and will no doubt spread rapidly through the whole broad and river complex. www.anglingtrust.net/news.asp?itemid=1081&itemTitle=Killer+Shrimp+Found+In+Norfolk+Broads+%96+Angling+Trust+Response§ion=29§ionTitle=NewsI would guess that for the shrimp to have travelled over such a great distance it would have to have been carried by a floating vessel or an anglers kit. We have a duty to try and protect our environment. Every time I come off the water I wash my kayak down with a Jeyes fluid solution just in case. Check that your boat is thoroughly dried out before you go to another water. Check any where it can stay damp. Make sure dry/wet suits and BA's are dried out if you have been in the water also all footwear. They may be small but they are a real danger to native species. It is through being cautious that other water users will see we are responsible and above reproach. Terry
