Slight problem,
I've fitted my echo & transducer, I just can't seem to find a way of fixing the sandwich box in which the battery is house to the base of my yak....
Industrial Velcro doesn't seem to work!
Help!.!.!

If it is a permanent fix then Sikaflex or even No More Nails

Tried both, sikfix peeled off and the no more nails didn't set!
I'll try roughing the bottom with coarse sandpaper first!

I have had no more nails for about 4 years , did rough up the surface first.

Just tackled the same problem, I got hold of some foam sheets and glued layers of them on the top and bottom of the sandwich box (which seems to be the universal fishing yak battery housing). I built up enough layers so that when the box is slid into position (behind the rear hatch, Malibu 2XL), the whole arrangement becomes tight and fast between the keel and deck.
I wouldn't leave it there whilst transporting the yak on the car, but I reckon it should be fine on the water, and looks strong enough to withstand a capsize. I suppose time will tell.
I have tried the No More Nails route, but also found that it peeled off. Gluing almost anything to polythene is a devil of a job.

I used to cut a piece of upvc window sill with the lip facing upwards and sikaflex that to the hull. Bungy chord to hold the box in place. Never had a problem and this way allows you to remove the box with ease. Phil
