GoSea Standard KTC1-60 Cradle Trolley
GOSEA are rapidly expanding company with very progressive ideas they are very keen to offer value for money to the kayak world.
having ordered my new trolley I was very impressed with the level of detail I was provided with about the delivery of my product.
this is my review of the GoSea Standard KTC1-60 Cradle Trolley
The trolley comes fully assembled and is made from marine grade aluminium this trolley is rated at 60kg but there are others in the range with even higher weight ratings
The parts and fittings are precision crafted. Nuts, bolts and springs are stainless steel all ends are caped with nylon end caps this is a very well made sturdy trolley
The trolley has 4 high density duplon pads which serve dual purpose of both protecting and gripping the kayaks hull during portage.
There is a sturdy central retaining strap which stops the trolley opening too far
The folding support leg (stand) has a strong rubber end cap giving the trolley good grip while loading the kayak to it
The folding mechanism is aided with hard nylon shaped spacers this makes the action of folding and un-folding the trolley easy even with cold wet hands
The end caps are internally fitted and have the bolt going right through them so you won’t loose them.
An aluminium collar is fitted and riveted to the wheel axel this maintains the perfect position of the wheels while the trolley is being used.
Fitting the wheels is easy just pop them on the frames axel and slot the locking pin through the pre drilled hole
The wheels have a very hard wearing nylon centre and chunky pneumatic tyres these should last a long time and grip even the roughest terrain.
The trolley comes with a two part set of sturdy cam buckle straps which have a pre sawn set of loops at the ends which simply connect to the frame so the kayak can be fastened down securely
Once attached to the kayak the high density duplon grip tubes grip the kayak really well and offer superb support to the hull
The whole thing easily fits in the hatch of most kayaks here it is seen inside the hull of a manta ray.
it took just a few seconds to take the wheels off for storage.
This is a superb trolley well made and finished to the highest standard no sharp edges and no open pipe-work everything is caped off to stop any debris ingress.
All fittings are stainless so they won’t rust the frame is high grade marine aluminium so again if looked after will give long service.
It is very easy to set up and take apart.
It is worth me mentioning that with this type of trolley the securing strap must come from the front of the frame and not the rear and after use in the sea a quick rinse in fresh water will keep it in top condition ready for next time.
The trolley retails at £36.50 at the moment and that includes free postage I think that’s fantastic value and sure to be a winner.
It is available directly from gosea
